The next day we were back on the road for the home stretch to Denver. Then all of a sudden, we were here! This land of mystery and promise! It was just as I had pictured it. Or is that because I had creepily Google Street Mapped practically the entire city in anticipation of the move.. Quaint little bungalows on tree-lined streets. Mountains in the distance. A bit of grunge but definitely not sketchy. Home sweet home. Mary and Sam were awesome enough to offer their spare bedrooms for us and all of our wordly possessions until we found a place and got ourselves together. Oh and Magnus. He was I think most excited to have us there. Well, mainly Shawn, the Animal Whisperer.
Saturday was nothing but apartment searching.. Driving from street to street to see what area we liked best. Lots of U-turns and quick stops. Kind of reminded me of garage sale-ing with Janet at the wheel… We ended up looking a bit more in the following days but I was stuck on one of the first places we saw at 222 Logan Street in the South Broadway area. This is where we eventually ended up after going back for a second look. We are both very happy with our final decision!
Especially happy about the renovated kitchen and the fireplace! Also, each floor has its own gas grill for the residents and a there’s a fantastic rooftop deck with a lovely view of the mountains in the distance. And off street parking. Although our parallel parking skills have certainly gone up a few notches even in just the short time we’ve been here:) We are also close to the shops and restaurants along Broadway which we have already taken advantage of. Potentially the best Goodwill I have ever been in and a delicious lunch of Vietnamese pho just a few blocks away.
